NAVIGATING THE COFFEE WORLD
WE WORK HERE. THAT’S THE WHOLE CREDENTIAL.

WHAT THIS IS

A PAPER
FOR PEOPLE
WHO WORK HERE.

Owners, baristas, managers and roasters writing about the parts of this trade nobody else bothers to cover. In their own voices, under their own names.

Who writes it

People currently doing the job, or who did it long enough to know. Not journalists covering coffee from outside it. If you have pulled a shift, signed a lease, or fixed a grinder at 6am, you are more qualified than most of what gets published.

What it covers

Four sections, listed below. What they have in common is that the trade press does not touch them: what the shift is actually like, what the build-out cost, what the software is doing to your day.

What it is not

Not reviews. Not gossip. Not a running commentary on somebody else’s business. Write about your own room, your own numbers, your own decisions. That is the whole editorial line and it is not negotiable.

Who pays for it

One person, out of pocket, because this stuff needed reading and nobody else was publishing it. No sponsors yet, no advertising, nothing owed to anybody. If that changes, any sponsor gets named on every page they fund and never sees a piece before it runs.
